About Aygaz

The 1950s and 1960s were very significant in terms of initiating and accelerating industrialization in Turkey. Serious steps have been taken to develop industry since the early 1950s when Turkey was further introduced to the liberal economy. Vehbi Koç is a veteran of Turkish trade and industry and his expansion in industry took place during this era. Vehbi Koç led the ventures to develop industry and the investment surge that began in Turkey as it moved into the 1960s, opening factories in every field from automobiles to household appliances. Aygaz, which has been the leader in the sector from the day it was founded, was formed in 1961.

Vehbi Koç established a gas company in a country that did not even know what cylinder-gas and stoves were used for, thus introducing Turkey to clean energy. Aygaz has become a part of the modernization adventure in Turkey, and has managed to quickly garner a position for itself in the culture of life as well as having a significant impact on social life.
The same history that gave Aygaz, the values and scale it has today is quite literally synonymous with the social and industrial history of the Republic of Turkey. Aygaz has reached this point through the sacrificial and humble efforts of its leaders, its employees, its suppliers and its dealers. The Aygaz brand is preferred by millions of families in Turkey as it has become a trusted part of the family for which people have a sincere affection. Aygaz has taken its place among the indispensable elements of Turkish society as the country is propelled towards new horizons with the ‘energy’ it has created for 50 years.
The first in the Koç Group Companies to operate in the energy sector, Aygaz has been the leader of the LPG sector since its foundation in 1961 and has become one of the five largest LPG companies in Europe because of the initiatives it has taken. In addition to distributing LPG as auto gas, cylinder gas and bulk gas, Aygaz manufactures and sells LPG cylinders, tanks, valves and pressure regulators, as well as marketing LPG-operated devices.

Aygaz has become a generic name in Turkey for cylinder gas because of its innovation capability and product dependability, two primary characteristics that have kept the company ahead of its competitors throughout its lifetime. One of the largest companies in Koç Holding, Aygaz has bolstered its brand image by focusing its half-century of experience, its knowledge and its product range on changing customer needs.

Powerful distribution network and logistics strength

Aygaz serves customers in 81 provinces with 2,086 cylinder gas dealers and 1,226 auto gas stations. Thanks to its extensive distribution network, Aygaz cylinders are delivered to over 100,000 homes every day, while over one million vehicles travel with Aygaz’s auto gas product, Aygaz Euro LPG+, every day.

The number one LPG supplier in Turkey, Aygaz owns the largest fleet of overland tankers in the country. The company transports LPG obtained from domestic refineries or imported from foreign markets to its filling facilities via sea and overland tankers as well as pipelines. The LPG stored here is then provided to consumers throughout the country via dealers as cylinder gas, bulk gas or auto gas while maintaining the same quality countrywide.

The Aygaz Group has 5 sea terminals with 16 filling facilities operated with state-of-the-art technology in compliance with international standards. With storage capacity of 170,000 m3, Aygaz has the highest storage capacity in Turkey. The LPG cylinders, tanks, valves and regulators manufactured at the Aygaz plant in Gebze are exported to 16 countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
