About Us

The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) is one of the best comprehensive cancer centers in the Middle East which treats both adult and pediatric patients. KHCC is named after our late beloved King Hussein who fought cancer in the same manner as he lived his life; with great faith, courage and dignity.

KHCC treats over 7000 new cancer patients each year, from Jordan and the region. It is including 13 operating rooms and 352 beds. It houses 36 intensive care units, including 6 ICU specialized for pediatric care. Highly-qualified oncologists and healthcare professionals (over 200 oncologists and consultants) and 1164 nurses, trained specifically in oncology nursing, work tirelessly to ensure that patients receive the latest in comprehensive cancer care.

KHCC delivers comprehensive cancer care by treating patients as a “whole”, focusing on their physical, emotional and social well-being.

KHCC treats all cancers and performs approximately 300 bone marrow transplants (BMT) year. The KHCC BMT program is one of the largest and most successful programs in the Middle East, achieving cure rates compatible with international standards. Non-cancer cases are also treated through the KHCC BMT program including thalassemia, aplastic anemia and other metabolic diseases.

New Expansion

Demand for top quality cancer care in the region is growing, and we are growing with it. As more and more families count on KHCC for top quality cancer care that they cannot find anywhere else in the region, the Center is currently being stretched to its limits and working at full capacity. In order to absorb the rising number of patients, KHCC urgently needs to expand. In 2011, we broke ground on the construction of the new expansion. It is expected to be completed in mid-2016.

The new KHCC Inpatient Tower and Outpatient Building will be located right across from the existing Center on Queen Rania Al Abdullah Street in Amman, near the University of Jordan. The total expected cost of this life-saving expansion is JD 130 million (US$ 186 million).

The King Hussein Cancer Center expansion will consist of 13-floor Inpatient Tower and outpatient building that will double the capacity of the existing Center and provide improved, integrated space for patient care, research and education. These new technologically cutting-edge facilities will enable us to become the main medical hub in the Middle East for comprehensive cancer treatment and care.

With the new expansion and with your support, we can continue to provide unparalleled treatment, services and comprehensive care to patients of all ages and backgrounds in our region in a safe and healing environment.
